From its humble beginnings at Prestwick in 1860, the original Open has blossomed into one of the biggest events in World Sport. For 2007, The Open returns to Carnoustie; the scene of 1999's remarkable play-off finish and perhaps the toughest of all Open venues. Wth two consecutive wins in the bag, many expect the all conquering Woods to make it 3 Opens in a row, but this is the last venue to produce a British Champion and a Scottish one at that, so perhaps the omens point to a British winner. Could 2007 finally be Monty's year?
